Default Account problem - Both GW and ncsoft master

Hey guys...

After returning from a lengthy hiatus I found that my password wasn't working.

Seeing as the "reset password" button in the game is getting me nowhere (punching in my e-mail adress has no apparent effect), I contacted support.

The thing is, I do have an ncsoft master account, but my serials haven't been added, nor can I add them. I keep getting the invalid serial message.

So my question is this: Is there anything I can do besides contacting support and supplying my serials to them and wait for the reply (which seems to take forever).

the only thing you can do is go buy a new copy of guild wars.

As long as you actually have the serials, it's pretty much the most legitimate proof that you actually own the given accounts. Forget the NCSoft master account, aside from the player base getting blackmailed into setting it up for a promotional giveaway a few months ago it's been of no use.

You might also want to think back, maybe you used a different password/e-mail? I switch passwords every few months, and the e-mail address might be from a service you no longer use and forgot about?

Edit:
Also, go directly to Anet support. Don't bother /w NCSoft.

This is incorrect.

OP-
Supply support with your serials to prove ownership of the account and attempt to take it back. It's likely that your account had gotten hacked and they locked it and the hacker had changed the password before as well. All of your stuff is most likely gone and Anet will never restore it, but they can try to restore you access to your account (if you proove ownership with your original serials).

Another thing people get wrong about the NCSoft account and blow it out of proportion are the serials. You can't add serials for an existing GW account to NCsoft and expect it to work, that is not how it works. You have to add the GW ACCOUNT to the NCsoft account, not the accounts serials. The serials section in NC is for new and unused serials to be entered into. Imagine how much abuse people would suffer if you could just add any serial to any NC account? People who carelessly let their account codes just get left out in the open for everyone to see would get hacked left and right.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. NCsoft added my gw account to my ncsoft master account, which made me able to change my pass.
I had indeed been hacked.

Here's the funny thing: Prior to quitting the game, I gave away all my money and all the rare items I had. When logging in after the hack, I discover a set of those consumables, a mini water djinn, a mini black moa chick and a tormented shield. So I actually profited from the hack

Most likely your account was hacked and sold. It's a GOOD thing the buyer of the account lost it, it will give a clear message to other potential used account buyers they can lose their account anytime without any chance of getting it back.

Darn, just lost a set of consumables, a Water Djinn, a Black Moa Chick and a Tormented Shield the other day due to some hacker...

Kidding of course, good to know people can get their accounts back after they've been hacked.

And welcome back!
